The SUMMER SOLSTICE
Every 21st of June, the doors of Pirámides de Güímar open so that the public can witness the fascinating phenomenon known as the “Double Sunset”. This interesting optical spectacle was discovered by researchers from the Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands, who determined that the main axes of the pyramid complex are astronomically aligned with the sun, during the summer and winter solstices.
